avitation%20in%20injection%20systems%20is%20desired%20to%20a%20certain%20degree%20because%20the%20collapse%20of%20cavitation%20bubbles%20influences%20the%20turbulence%20intensity%20towards%20the%20outlet%20of%20the%20injection%20holes.%20This%20consequently%20enhances%20the%20break-up%20process%20in%20the%20combustion%20chamber.%20At%20the%20same%20time%2C%20correct%20prediction%20of%20the%20cavitation%20phenomenais%20very%20important%20in%20order%20to%20avoid%20cavitation%20erosion%2C%20to%20estimate%20the%20discharge%20ratesunder%20cavitating%20conditions%2C%20and%20to%20estimate%20the%20force%20on%20the%20needle%20%28to%20design%20theregulation%20mechanism%20of%20the%20injection%20system%29.%20The%20presented%20methodology%20can%20be%20used%20to%20simulate%20flows%20in%20different%20types%20of%20gasoline%20and%20diesel%20injectors.%20Single-%20and%20multi-phase%20simulations%20using%20different%20meshing%20techniques%20have%20been%20performed%3B%20the%20first%20approach%20featuring%20a%20%5C%22hand-made%5C%22%20structured%20computational%20grid%20with%20arbitrary%20interface%20connections%2C%20and%20the%20second%20one%20using%20an%20automatically%20generated%20unstructured%20hybrid%20grid.%20Predicted%20discharge%20rates%20were%20found%20to%20be%20in%20good%20agreement%20with%20the%20measurements.%22%2C%22date%22%3A%22July%202003%22%2C%22proceedingsTitle%22%3A%22%22%2C%22conferenceName%22%3A%22ICLASS%22%2C%22language%22%3A%22%22%2C%22DOI%22%3A%22%22%2C%22ISBN%22%3A%22%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22%22%2C%22collections%22%3A%5B%5D%2C%22dateModified%22%3A%222021-08-30T02%3A10%3A38Z%22%7D%7D%5D%7D
