Exa’s business model was based on the provision of comprehensive vehicle design simulation solutions. As a Vice President, I identified a need for third party partnerships to deliver application capabilities to the highest standard. I investigated the capabilities to identify gaps, identified and later assessed potential partners with the CEO. We selected and negotiated with multiple partners like Thermoanalytics, ESTECO, Modelon, Gamma Technologies, etc. and I managed end-to-end partner relationships. As a result we succeeded in establishing a selection of mutually lucrative partnerships, heavily contributing to $70m revenue growth over 10-years. When Exa was acquired by Dassault Systèmes at a very high valuation of $400m, the Dassault Systèmes explicitly stated that “with Exa’s valuable application knowledge in transportation and mobility and other industry verticals, we will accelerate our delivery of industry solution experiences to benefit our existing and future customers.”
